Your first note

Notes in Arka use a powerful, interactive TipTap editor. To get started, locate the **New Note** button in your sidebar (marked with a plus icon and highlighted in purple) and click it to open your first blank canvas.

The Slash (/) Menu

Every item in Arka—from a simple paragraph to a complex database—is a block. To add a new type of block, just type '/' on any new line to reveal the command menu.

  • Basic Blocks: Create Headings (H1, H2, H3), Bulleted Lists, and Todo Lists.
  • Media & Embeds: Insert Images, Videos, Audio files, or even interactive YouTube/Vimeo embeds.
  • Specialized Blocks: Add functional blocks like Mind Maps, Flashcards, Timers, and Calendars directly into your notes.

Auto-Magic Metadata

Arka most unique feature is its ability to understand your content. Click the **Magic Sparkle Button** at the top of a new note to automatically generate:

  • Smart Titles: Based on the first few sentences of your draft.
  • Contextual Icons: Arka picks an emoji or icon that represents your topic.
  • Dynamic Covers: We'll search and set a beautiful header image (from Unsplash or Pixabay) that matches your note's theme.

Advanced Layouts

Arka isn't just a vertical list of text. You can organize information spatially to suit your workflow:

  • Multi-Column Display: Use the Slash command or drag handles to create side-by-side columns.
  • Full Width Mode: Toggle the page layout in the note settings to expand your workspace—ideal for wide tables and project boards.
  • Synced Blocks: Create a block that updates across multiple notes simultaneously. Edit once, reflect everywhere.

Live Collaboration

Arka is built for teams. Toggle the **Live** switch in the top bar to enable real-time synchronization.

  • Collaborator Cursors: See exactly where your teammates are editing with color-coded cursors and name labels.
  • Inline Mentions: Type '@' to tag a teammate or link another note directly within your text.
